80's Movie Challenge

I thought just for kicks I’d issue an 80’s movie challenge. The first person to correctly identify the movies quoted below will get to name the title of Gropius’ next blog post.

It’s a small reward, but could prove to be very funny indeed. You can make it absolutely crazy, bizarre or contrary to Gropius’ likes, but the only requirement: it can’t be anything slanderous, racially biased or politically charged. Even if you don’t know all 4, comment on what you do know & throw in your favorite 80’s movie quote.

Movie 1.
“No more rhymes now I mean it!"
“Anybody want a peanut?”

Movie 2.
“I like the dark. I love the dark. But I hate nature, I hate nature!”

Movie 3.
“Did lard ass have to pay to enter the pie eating contest?”

Movie 4.
“Diane Cort is a show pony. What you need is a stallion.”

Let’s see what you’ve got.

Hmmmmm... Princess Bride for the first quote. Goonies for the second. I don't know the third and fourth quotes.

I must not have been here in the 80's. But when I learn what movies these intriguing quotes are from, I'll catch up.

And I'll learn a bit more about what goes on in your mind because the things we remember reflect our deepest interests.

Notary sojac.

Oh, I'm incredibly bad at movie quotes!! I can never really remember anything even from my favorites... So good luck to whoever wins! Can be quite entertaining indeed! Will you then have to write about what the winner choses to be the subject? :)

Oh Leah, you are good! Now all anyone has to do is combine your knowledge with the movies attributed to the last two quotes and we have a winner!

KB--"the things we remember reflect our deepest interests." I agree, and find it sad that these 4 movies hold such a special place for me!! :)

And Julia, yes, I will then have to write about what the winner chooses. Can't wait to see what that might be. :)

I know them. I'll tell if I can get a say in the next subject. Just don't tell Gropey it came from me.

Dang, I'm getting old! My memory sucks on all four counts!

no fucking clue. How sad. My excuse? I was too busy having a panic attack during the 80's.

The only one I know is Princess Bride

The last one is Say Anything but that's all I know. I don't usually remember a thing from a movie after I've seen it. :(

Okay, so we have 3 out of 4. If you know the third quote, just mention the other 3 movies with your comment and ding ding ding!

I don't know any of these. I think I only saw John Hughes movies in the 80s. Oh, and of course, sci-fi. :)

OK, is #3 Stand By Me?

Oh, I'm supposed to post all the answers and the title of your next blog post?

1. Princess Bride
2. Goonies
3. Stand by Me
4. Say Anything

Title of next blog post: "Why I married a meat eater."

"Princess Bride" is the only one I recognize. Goonies and Stand By Me were annoying so I purged them from my memory. Say Anything was also, but it was a less annoying example of John Cusack's work. Gross Pointe Blank is the best, I think. Must Love Dogs is okay.

What about....
1.You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, never get involved in a land war in Asia. But only slighty less well known is this: never get involved with a Sicilian when death is on the line!
2.Sounds like Kong.
3. Your father is the looney up in Tokis. He is crazier than a shithouse rat.
