The Sounds & Sights of Hope

This has always been one of my favorite songs; I get a smile from ear to ear when it pops on the radio. It instills a reminder that even if things are tough, I can choose to find hope, happiness and simplicity just around the corner.

These sunflowers from Husband's garden make me feel the same way.

What sounds and sights bring you hope?

Sunflowers are such sunny flowers indeed! It's kind of interesting how if you translate their name in Russian to English it would be something like "undersunners" haha Little suns under the big one :)

As for what brings me hope... Hmm, this is not going to be as poetic and pretty as your story, but havign accomplished something or having things go the way I wanted them to go always gives me a lot of hope for teh future and makes me feel like I'm truly capable of so so many things. The feeling don't last as long thought usually, but I love those moments regardless!

That's one of MY favorite songs too!!!! ;-))))

And I love, love, LOVE sunflowers. They are so beautiful. Especially the tall ones. In eastern Colorado, we have great fields of them. "We." "They," since now I live in Florida.

Larry Niven thought up the Slaver sunflowers, genetically-modified plants with mirrored petals that focused the sunlight on their photosynthetic node in the center of the bloom... or on any threat to the sunflower field. They weren't very smart, but they were very effective at area defense.
